DJI AL1 Spotlight for Matrice 4 Series Enterprise Drone

The DJI AL1 Spotlight is the dedicated mounted illumination payload for the DJI Matrice 4 Series — Matrice 4T, Matrice 4TD, and Matrice 4E. Powered directly through the aircraft, controlled through DJI Pilot 2, built for SAR night operations, wildlife recovery, public safety overwatch, and after-dark inspection work.

Real people answer the phone at (863) 224-6923. No hold queue, no offshore call center.

Ordering note on standalone accessory purchases: Customers purchasing the AL1 alongside an M4 series aircraft order receive the spotlight shipped together with the drone. Customers purchasing the AL1 standalone (without an aircraft order) are placed on a backorder queue with no firm estimated delivery date. If you need the AL1 on a guaranteed timeline and don't have an active drone order with us, call us at (863) 224-6923 before ordering so we can confirm availability.

    Quick Facts

    • Compatible with: DJI Matrice 4T, Matrice 4TD, Matrice 4E
    • Brightness: Up to 2,500 lumens (verify against current DJI specifications)
    • Power Source: Powered directly from the aircraft, no separate battery
    • Control: DJI Pilot 2 on the RC Plus 2 controller
    • Mounting: Top E-Port of the M4 series aircraft
    • Delivery (with aircraft order): 5 to 7 business days

    What the AL1 Does

The AL1 mounts to the top E-Port of the Matrice 4 series and provides high-output LED illumination for night operations. Unlike a separately-gimbaled spotlight, the AL1 follows aircraft orientation — pilots aim it by positioning the drone. This is the same workflow used on the M30T's CZI spotlights, and operators familiar with M30T-class platforms transition without retraining.

Power comes from the aircraft. No separate battery to charge, no swap cycle to manage, no extra weight or balance issues. The spotlight is on when you turn it on through DJI Pilot 2 and off when you turn it off.

    What It's Built For

    • Search and rescue night operations illuminating subjects after thermal locates them
    • Wildlife recovery for ground approach after thermal detection of downed animals
    • Law enforcement overwatch illuminating subjects during foot pursuits, perimeter containment, and aerial scene support
    • Public safety incident response providing scene illumination in low-light or no-light conditions
    • Infrastructure inspection after dark when scheduled outages or operational requirements limit daytime access
    • Maritime and waterway operations for night search, patrol, and emergency response

    Protection and Coverage

This is a genuine DJI AL1 Spotlight sold by Covert Drones, an independent reseller. If your AL1 arrives defective, contact us within 72 hours of delivery and we'll coordinate a replacement under our DOA policy.

The AL1 is a payload accessory, not the aircraft. DJI Enterprise Care and CPS Drone Protection plans cover the aircraft and its integrated sensors. Damage to mounted payloads from crashes or accidents typically falls outside aircraft coverage. Handle and stow the AL1 carefully when not mounted.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does the AL1 have its own battery?

No. The AL1 is powered directly through the aircraft via the E-Port. There's no separate battery to charge or manage. When the aircraft is powered on, the spotlight is available through DJI Pilot 2.

How do I aim the spotlight?

The AL1 follows the aircraft's orientation. You position the drone where you want the light directed. This is the same workflow as the M30T's CZI spotlights and most fixed-mount illumination payloads. There is no separately-gimbaled aim mechanism.

Will the AL1 work on my M30T?

No. The AL1 is designed for the Matrice 4 Series only (M4T, M4TD, M4E). The M30T uses the CZI GL60 Mini or CZI LP12 spotlight payloads. If you have an M30T and need illumination, look at our M30T-specific bundles or call us at (863) 224-6923.

Does adding the AL1 affect flight time?

Yes, marginally. Any active payload draws power from the aircraft's flight battery. The AL1's draw is modest, but flight time will be slightly reduced compared to a standard flight without the spotlight active. Plan battery rotation accordingly for sustained night operations.

Can I run the AL1 and the AS1 speaker at the same time?

Yes. The Matrice 4 Series supports dual payload configurations — the AL1 spotlight mounts on top, the AS1 speaker mounts in a separate position. Both can run simultaneously through DJI Pilot 2. This is the configuration used in the M4TD First Responder Kit.

    Is the AL1 weatherproof?

The AL1 is built for outdoor field use and is designed to operate in the same environmental conditions as the M4 series aircraft. Specific weatherproofing ratings should be verified against current DJI specifications. We do not recommend submerging the spotlight or operating it in sustained heavy rain beyond the aircraft's own weather rating (M4TD is IP55-rated, M4T and M4E are not).

Is the AL1 covered by warranty?

If your AL1 arrives defective, contact us within 72 hours of delivery and we'll coordinate a replacement under our DOA policy. As a payload accessory, the AL1 is not covered by DJI Enterprise Care or CPS Drone Protection — those plans cover the aircraft and integrated sensors. Handle and store the spotlight carefully when not mounted.
